As a lasting memorial to the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee a group of residents have begun fund raising to provide a seat to circle the oak tree on what it is hoped will be called “the Jubilee Green” in future. The cost of the seat will be in excess of £6,000 and is being built locally by F1 Precision of Cothey Butts. Many local businesses have contributed to the cost of this seat. However, contributions are still welcome and if you would like to be part of this project by giving a donation, your remittance (payable to Fishbourne Jubilee Fund) can be sent to the Parish Clerk.
It is intended that the new seat will be unveiled at the Street Party taking place on the ‘oak tree green’ in Fishbourne Lane on 4th June. Please do remember that this event is for all residents of Fishbourne Parish and members of RVYC.
After commissioning the seat will be donated to the Parish Council who will thereafter be responsible for its upkeep.
